• Tradition The “Blue Peter”

is a signal flag from the flag alphabet - the "P".

The small flag shows a white square in a wide blue frame and, when hoisted on the front mast of a ship in the harbor, means: "All hands on deck, the ship is about to set sail."

It is just as much a part of shipping as the sweater. For well over 100 years, generations of sailors have been wearing this sailor's sweater made of new wool.
