Characteristics
  • Wool is a renewable natural raw material with unique properties.
  • It has a natural thermoregulation property, which means that wool can absorb up to 33% of its dry weight in water without feeling damp and it wicks away moisture much more quickly than, for example, cotton.
  • Based on their total volume, woolen goods consist of 85% air, so they are good heat insulators, which is why it is said that wool “warms” well.
  • Wool absorbs dirt poorly and hardly creases because the fiber is very elastic.
  • Wool is very colorfast and flame retardant. It doesn't burn, it just chars.
  • In contrast to synthetic fibers, wool absorbs few odors (e.g. from sweat) and has a natural self-cleaning function - any odors that are absorbed are released again when ventilated and the wool smells neutral and fresh again after a short time in fresh air.

  • Merino wool is a very high quality wool that is obtained from Merino sheep. The Merino fiber is significantly more arched, which leads to grip and volume advantages.
  • Merino wool is finer and very elastic. With a fiber thickness of approx. 22 µm, it is particularly suitable for use in areas close to the body and for sensitive people.
